This short piece explores the feeling of returning home after a period of travel — when everything is familiar, but doesn’t quite feel the same at first.

Shot between South East Asia and the UK, the film is built around contrast. Warmth and movement give way to stillness, routine, and colder tones, with subtle moments of memory woven throughout. Rather than relying on montage, the focus was on small, controlled shots and natural light to capture the quieter, internal side of that transition.

The rain sequence was filmed practically using a custom lighting setup and a garden hose to create texture and shape, helping ground the piece in something tactile and real.

The intention wasn’t to present travel as an escape, but to reflect on what happens afterwards — the slower process of readjusting, and how those experiences linger even as life settles back into normal.
